What has been achieved by Gudang Garam up to now is certainly related with the determination of its founder, the late Surya Wonowidjojo was a true businessman matured by experiences and a keen business discernment. In the eyes of the employees, he is not only served as a leader but also a father, a brother as well as a best friend who has a very deep concern about his workers.
Surya Wonowidjojo passed away in August 28, 1985, leaving deepest impression not only in the eyes of his workers but also in the heart of the people of Kediri and its surrounding. He has become a role model who bequeath invaluable values for the company, which are compiled in the Company’s Catur Dharma:
